About:




I don’t feel justified within myself living and not creating, or being outside and not engaging with what I see and experience.

If it is a beautiful day it’s not enough to just take it in, if so I feel that something is missing, and I would feel that it is all a lost opportunity, a wasted moment of beauty.

I found that painting the subject on the spot is a very real and intense moment. You can feel the time physically passing and you can notice things that nobody can see in the mad rush of this world.

I am in love with color and the paint and this can be an entire motivation to begin a painting, I enjoy putting things down on the canvas to create a narrative that exists in a moment of time.




Bio:

David Brook was born in Sydney 1980, he studied at the National Art school in 1999.
